Job summary

XTL Transport, a Surrey, BC-based leader in trucking and logistics, is seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. Whether fully certified or an apprentice, you’ll find opportunities for growth, training, and long-term employment within our stable, expanding organization.

Inspect, diagnose and repair commercial trailers, including reefers and dry vans; perform preventative maintenance; complete CVIP inspections; and maintain accurate repair records.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Trailer Mechanic certification, Red Seal Certification, CVSE/CVIP Certification, or a combination of these credentials.
• Strong diagnostic and repair experience on commercial trailers.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair commercial trailers and related systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical, brake, suspension, landing gear, and air systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
• Complete and maintain CVIP inspections and maintenance records.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration-related trailer components where applicable.
• Repair body damage and replace trailer components as required.
• Maintain accurate repair records using computer software.
• Monitor and manage shop inventory as required.
• Maintain company equipment and tools in safe working condition.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Report safety concerns and repair requirements to the Shop Supervisor.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain professional and respectful communication with drivers, supervisors, and team members.
