Job summary

Day & Ross is seeking a Licensed Trailer Technician for a full-time, yard-based position in Edmonton, AB. The role operates Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., outdoors in all weather conditions.

You will complete maintenance and repairs on trailers, diagnose brakes, suspension, tires, hydraulics, and HVAC/refrigeration systems, and document updates for supervisors. The job emphasizes safety, independent work in the yard, and a strong focus on fleet reliability.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Trailer Technician certification required.
  • Red Seal endorsement is an asset.
  • Experience in trailer/transport maintenance.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Physically capable of manual work and tight spaces.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and industry regulations.
  • CVIP and/or Class 1 license are considered assets.
  • Previous experience working within an industrial environment, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience in the transportation industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting safety inspections.
  • Physically fit and able to lift, move, reach, bend, walk, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel and crouch for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Complete maintenance and repairs based on work orders.
  • Diagnose and service brakes, suspension, axles, tires, lighting, wiring, hydraulics, and HVAC/refrigeration systems.
  • Repair trailer bodies and components (doors, frames, decals, etc.).
  • Work independently in the yard.
  • Document work and communicate updates to supervisors/managers.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned to support overall fleet operations.
