Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Truck Mechanic Foreman/Supervisor.
• Valid 310 T or 310 J Truck Mechanic license required.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of all vehicles in the fleet.
2. Oversee and monitor mechanics in their daily routines and workload.
3. Coach and counsel staff on performance issues and conduct annual reviews.
4. Ensure all vehicles comply with safety laws and company standards.
5. Manage documentation such as registrations, sales contracts, and safety inspections for fleet records.
6. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all vehicles, including trucks, tractors, and trailers.
7. Keep equipment and tools inventory lists current and ensure all tools are accounted for.
8. Use fleet management software to oversee parts, labor, and fleet operations.
9. Control and maintain all garage inventories.
10. Remove damaged trucks, tractors, and trailers from service.
11. Ensure timely delivery of parts and coordinate repairs as needed.
12. Perform regulated equipment maintenance, including emissions testing and licensing.
13. Coordinate safety inspections and follow up on repairs.

Requirements:

1. 3-5 years of experience as a Truck Mechanic Foreman/Supervisor.
2. Valid 310 T or 310 J Truck Mechanic license.
3. Experience as a truck mechanic.
4. Ability to perform repairs and check work for quality assurance.
5. Experience managing a shop with a company-owned fleet is an asset.
6. Knowledge of health and safety regulations is an asset.
