Job summary

Charger Logistics Inc. in Brampton is seeking an Apprentice Mechanic to diagnose and repair issues on heavy-duty trucks, ensuring safety and reliability across the fleet. You will perform inspections, handle maintenance, and work to get equipment back online quickly and cost-effectively.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of shop practices, a valid G-class license, and preferred DOT/MTO rule familiarity, with strong problem-solving and time-management skills for a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Mechanic with knowledge of shop practices and the ability to diagnose mechanical problems.
• 310T and/or 310J licenses are an asset.
• Valid G-class driver's license with clear driving record.
• Knowledge of truck parts and equipment and truck repairs.
• Knowledge of DOT/MTO rules and regulations is an asset.
• Effective problem solver with the ability to understand issues and find solutions in a timely manner.
• High attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive driver and owner/operator reports and diagnose problems using test drives and test instruments.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on medium and heavy-duty trucks.
• Clean, repair, recondition and maintain equipment and components.
• Responsible for getting equipment back up and running in the most efficient and cost-effective manner available.
• Perform all tasks according to Charger safety procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Receive driver and owner/operator reports and conduct initial inspection to diagnose problem using test drives and test instruments, such as pressure gauges, motor analyzers, and other equipment as needed
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, warranty procedures, steering and suspension, electrical diagnostics, etc. all on medium and heavy duty trucks
• Clean, repair, recondition and maintain equipment and components
• Responsible for getting equipment back up and running in the most efficient and cost-effective manner available
• Perform all tasks according to Charger safety procedures
