Charger Logistics Inc. in Calgary is seeking an Apprentice Mechanic to join the Service Department. You will diagnose mechanical issues in trucks and contribute to maintenance tasks.

You will work with a team, apply shop practices, and grow your skills toward advanced roles within our North American network.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Mechanic role with shop practices knowledge.
• Valid G-class driver's license and clean record.
• Familiarity with DOT/MTO rules is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive driver and owner/operator reports and diagnose problems using test drives and diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on medium and heavy duty trucks.
• Clean, repair, recondition and maintain equipment and components.
• Get equipment back up and running in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Perform all tasks according to Charger safety procedures.

We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our Service Department based out of our Calgary office.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive driver and owner/operator reports and conduct initial inspection to diagnose problem using test drives and test instruments, such as pressure gauges, motor analyzers, and other equipment as needed
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, warranty procedures, steering and suspension, electrical diagnostics, etc. all on medium and heavy duty trucks
• Clean, repair, recondition and maintain equipment and components
• Responsible for getting equipment back up and running in the most efficient and cost-effective manner available
• Perform all tasks according to Charger safety procedures

• Apprentice Mechanic with knowledge of shop practices and the ability to diagnose mechanical problems
• 310T and/or 310J licenses are an asset
• Valid G-class driver’s license with clear driving record
• Knowledge of truck parts and equipment and truck repairs
• Knowledge of DOT/MTO rules and regulations is an asset
• Effective problem solver with the ability to understand issues and find solutions in a timely manner
• High attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
