Job summary

Charger Logistics Inc. is expanding its Brampton, Ontario Service Department and seeks an Apprentice Mechanic. The role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and repairing medium and heavy duty trucks to keep equipment running efficiently.

Applicants should have an apprentice background, with 310T/310J licenses as assets and a valid G-class license. DOT/MTO knowledge is beneficial, and the company offers growth opportunities in a world-class logistics

Qualifications

• Apprentice Mechanic with shop practices knowledge and diagnostic ability.
• 310T and/or 310J licenses are assets.
• Valid G-class driver’s license with clean record.
• Knowledge of truck parts and repairs is required.
• Familiarity with DOT/MTO rules is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive driver and owner/operator reports and conduct initial inspection to diagnose problems using test drives and instruments.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on medium and heavy duty trucks, including brakes, steering, suspension and electrical diagnostics.
• Clean, repair, recondition and maintain equipment and components.
• Get equipment back up and running in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Follow Charger safety procedures in all tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive driver and owner/operator reports and conduct initial inspection to diagnose problem using test drives and test instruments, such as pressure gauges, motor analyzers, and other equipment as needed
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, warranty procedures, steering and suspension, electrical diagnostics, etc. all on medium and heavy duty trucks
• Clean, repair, recondition and maintain equipment and components
• Responsible for getting equipment back up and running in the most efficient and cost-effective manner available
• Perform all tasks according to Charger safety procedures

Requirements
