Job summary

Stella-Jones is seeking a Treater to monitor chemical levels, prepare mixes, and input data into our system for the wood treating process. You will handle lumber through the treating cycle, move materials with a forklift, and ensure safety and compliance with our health and safety program.

The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and intermediate computer skills, with an afternoon shift from 3:00pm to 12:00am and shift premium available.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper levels of chemical for treatment.
• Makes chemical mixes according to material being treated.
• Inputs data into the system and starts the treatment cycle.
• Receives and unloads chemicals onsite.
• Loads and unloads from treating cylinder/dock.
• Elevates lumber for drying and moves through treating process.
• Operates company equipment safely and responsibly.
• Complies with applicable codes and Stella-Jones HSE program.
• Participates in maintenance activities as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

As a treater, the individual has to monitor chemical levels, make the mixes and input the data into the system according to the material being treated. Treat wood as per specification requirements. Uses forklift to move material through the treating process.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures proper levels of chemical for treatment
• Makes the chemical mixes according to the material being treated
• Inputs the data into the system and starts the treatment cycle
• Responsible for receiving and unloading chemicals when onsite
• Loads and unloads from treating cylinder/dock.
• Elevates lumber for drying
• Moves lumber through the treating process
• Safe and responsible operation of company equipment
• Performs the work safely according to applicable codes, standards and to Stella-Jones health and safety program
• Works in compliance with all TRD regulations
• Participates in maintenance activities as required
• Performs other duties as assigned
