Position Overview:
Finning is seeking a strategic and service-oriented Travel Manager to lead and continuously evolve our global travel program.

This role is pivotal in managing travel operations, ensuring policy compliance, optimizing travel spend, and enhancing the overall traveler experience. As the primary liaison with our Travel Management Company (TMC), you will drive service excellence, manage supplier relationships, and ensure alignment with contractual obligations.

Job Description:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global travel strategy aligned with Finning’s business objectives.
  • Act as the primary contact for all travel-related inquiries, managing the travel inbox and supporting employees with billing, policy, and booking issues.
  • Oversee travel suppliers and ensure performance, service quality, and contract compliance.
  • Manage the relationship with our TMC, including daily coordination, performance reviews, and contract oversight.
  • Ensure our TMC meets service level agreements (SLAs) and lead regular business reviews.
  • Collaborate with the TMC to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance traveler satisfaction.
  • Monitor travel and expense activity to ensure policy adherence and identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Enforce travel policy compliance and provide education and follow-up on out-of-policy behavior.
  • Continuously review and update travel policies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain and optimize the online booking tool to guide traveler behavior and improve compliance.
  • Lead hotel sourcing efforts in coordination with travel partners and the global category management team.
  • Plan and execute annual travel fairs at key locations, including virtual events for remote offices.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate travel management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of travel industry practices, tools, and technologies.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and enforce service-level agreements.
  • Experience with outsourced travel management providers and online booking tools.
  • Familiarity with hotel sourcing and travel data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Note:

  • This position is based out of our head office in Edmonton.
  • Temporary, full time role for 6 months.
  • Monday – Friday (5x2) schedule.
