Job summary

Covenant House Vancouver is seeking a Youth Worker for the Community Support Services (CSS) Program. You will build trusting relationships with youth, assess needs, and provide practical resources.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to help youth reach short- and long-term goals, including education and employment support, while navigating trauma-related challenges. The role requires experience with at-risk youth, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in related social service field
• Minimum one year in a low barrier, harm reduction setting OR
• Minimum 3 years full-time experience in a similar low barrier role

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome youth, assess needs, provide resources
• Develop relationships with at-risk youth 16-24
• Conduct program intake/admission and orient new youth
• Collaborate with staff to set goals and action plans
• Support youth in education and employment goals
• Coordinate youth meetings and life skills activities
• Respond to emergencies using trauma-informed practice
• Provide outreach to connect youth with Covenant House Vancouver
• Document notes and maintain youth case files
• Attend required trainings and perform duties as assigned
• Light duties including laundry and reception when needed
