Job summary

Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) is seeking a Parenting Across the Life Cycle Training Coordinator to develop and implement training for Parenting Support Workers, addressing trauma-informed practices. You will lead sessions, create resources, and collaborate across the Community Development Portfolio to close service gaps.

The role emphasizes culturally grounded approaches, engagement with Indigenous women, and strengthening family reunification pathways.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Indigenous Learning, Women’s Studies, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in community service delivery.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, and training delivery skills.
• Experience coordinating workshops, conferences, and training events.
• Experience developing and implementing resources, training materials, and educational tools.
• Knowledge and experience using a Train-the-Trainer model.
• Strong networking, relationship building, and partnership development skills.
• Excellent administrative, organizational, and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage time effectively.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to consider multiple perspectives.
• Experience with project financial management.
• Ability to build trust and establish dependable working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop training programs for Parenting Support Workers across the parenting continuum.
• Assist with special projects within the Community Development Portfolio.
• Deliver trauma-informed training materials and a Parenting Program Manual.
• Collaborate with BFFV program staff to address community needs and service gaps.
• Engage Indigenous women and families in program development and delivery.
