Job summary

Ontario Native Women's Association (ONWA) is seeking a Land Based Coordinator to lead land-based activities and traditional healing through ceremony, teachings, and guidance for staff and community. This role supports Indigenous women and their families through a trauma-informed approach and cultural programming.

The position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to travel, and a deep knowledge of Indigenous cultures to promote healing, language restoration, and cultural connection

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or bachelor’s degree is required.
• Experience leading traditional interventions and ceremonies.
• Knowledge of sweat lodge, qulliq, drumming, and related practices.
• Ability to facilitate land-based activities and healing ceremonies.
• Ability to travel when required.
• Indigenous language knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate land-based activities and traditional healing.
• Offer Indigenous teachings and guidance to staff and community.
• Provide traditional counselling and cultural support.
