Job summary

Purolator is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee road courier operations and lead a unionized team at our Québec facility. The role includes guiding daily operations, coaching staff, and ensuring safety and efficiency in a daylight schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of people-management experience, ideally in a unionized environment with warehouse employees, couriers, or transportation personnel.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced French language proficiency, both written and spoken.
• Must be adaptable and willing to work flexible schedules and days to meet operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage courier operations, ensuring workflow runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Lead and oversee a team of unionized employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Achieve operational targets established in the operational scorecard.
• Monitor and manage employee performance in accordance with operational standards and performance metrics.
• Continuously improve operational standards through regular performance reviews, coaching, counseling, and recognition.
• Communicate and implement company policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance and alignment across the team.
• Prepare and complete various reports and documentation related to operations and employee performance.
• Demonstrate core competencies in communication, innovation, change management, relationship building, and leadership.

We are currently seeking a Transportation Manager for a daytime position at our Québec facility.

Location: 7000 Armand-Viau Street, Québec, QC G2C 2C4
Shift Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shift
Salary: To be discussed, according to Grade 9 salary scale

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive and productive work environment while ensuring operational objectives are achieved efficiently. This role requires a highly motivated leader who can drive performance through effective coaching, recognition, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage courier operations, ensuring workflow runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Lead and oversee a team of unionized employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Achieve operational targets established in the operational scorecard.
• Monitor and manage employee performance in accordance with operational standards and performance metrics.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of people-management experience, ideally in a unionized environment with warehouse employees, couriers, or transportation personnel.
• Logistics experience is considered an asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence or equivalent.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proven experience complying with and enforcing Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Labour Canada guidelines.
• Advanced French language proficiency, both written and spoken.
• Must be adaptable and willing to work flexible schedules and days to meet operational requirements.
