Job summary

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage Indigenous and stakeholder groups, and help expand our project portfolio while mentoring staff and delivering high-impact infrastructure outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Transportation Environmental Planning in Ontario.
• Experience navigating provincial and federal environmental permitting and regulations in Ontario.
• Experience with Ontario EA processes and federal EA legislation; collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental planning and permitting throughout the lifecycle of a project with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Work on environmental assessments, permitting/approvals, and compliance monitoring for MTO projects.
• Ensure project activities comply with municipal, provincial, and federal environmental standards.
• Identify environmental permitting needs and develop delivery schedules.
• Prepare permit inputs, regulatory filings, and environmental management plans.
• Provide technical writing support and coordinate environmental studies.
• Support engagement with Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Build relationships with public, government, and Indigenous communities; assist business development.
• Develop staff through on-the-job mentorship.
