Job summary

LGL Limited is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Planner to support environmental planning for transportation and infrastructure projects across Ontario, including the GTA. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to planning through detailed design, and assist with environmental assessments and stakeholder engagement.

Reporting to the Management Team in Ontario, you will coordinate studies, prepare planning documents, liaise with clients and regulators, and help manage scope,

Qualifications

• University degree required in environmental planning or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of environmental planning experience.
• Experience with Ontario environmental assessments.
• Experience across planning fases: planning to construction.
• Experience with public, agency and stakeholder consultation.
• Experience coordinating with eng/design teams to integrate environmental requirements.
• Experience with transit/public-sector projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental planning for transportation, transit, municipal and other infrastructure projects.
• Prepare environmental assessment and planning documents (ESDs, TESRs, EPRs, DCRs, consultation plans).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary environmental studies with specialists.
• Review designs to identify environmental issues, permits and mitigation.
• Support public, agency and stakeholder consultations.
• Liaise with clients, design teams, regulators and authorities.
• Track environmental commitments through planning, design and construction.
• Assist with project management including scope, schedule and budget.
• Contribute to proposals and business development.

Education

University degree in environmental planning, urban or land use planning, environmental studies, geography, environmental science or a related discipline
