THE POSITION

We are excited to welcome you to District 5-0 as a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor, where you will be essential in supervising a construction inspection team. In this role, you will perform a variety of technical duties associated with the inspection of bridges and other structures. Your efforts will ensure quality and adherence to standards during the construction phase, playing a key role in the successful delivery of transportation projects. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor, you will supervise a team of construction inspectors while executing various technical responsibilities related to the inspection of transportation projects. Your role will ensure that all construction projects adhere to approved plans, standards, specifications, and contractual agreements. You will focus on inspecting materials and workmanship for road and bridge projects, which may include tasks such as roadway overlays, widening, stabilization, earthwork, guiderail installation, and drainage.

Your responsibilities will involve interpreting contract requirements through careful analysis of specifications and drawings, as well as applying a range of testing and inspection methods. This position demands independent judgment to make informed technical decisions on-site, ensuring that all aspects of the construction process meet the necessary quality and safety standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
• This position may require overtime and travel.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown.
• Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,836.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
