Qualifications

• University degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Transmission projects.
• Registered member of a Professional Engineering association in ON or another province of Canada.
• Proficient in design/analysis software and CAD systems, along with familiarity of drawing standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication abilities in English – written and verbal.
• Experience in design tasks including scope, schedule and cost control.
• Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe engineering solutions through design, analysis, and interpreting specifications for medium complexity utilities projects.
• Assist project/operations management in meeting safety, cost, quality, and schedule targets by proposing plan changes and coordinating work schedules.
• Resolve highly technical and unusual design and field engineering problems through independent studies and judgment.
• Contribute to CIMA+'s engineering practices by conducting studies and providing guidance to other engineers.
• Deliver engineering deliverables and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Design overhead line structures and facilities for voltages from 60kV to 500kV in an electric utility environment.
• Prepare project documentation like reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, design basis, and test plans.
• Develop design work packages with scope, duration, and effort estimates, and manage tasks for existing and new facilities.
• Provide signed and sealed engineering deliverables as the Professional of Record per regulatory requirements.
• Offer technical assistance, construction support, and field reviews as required.
• Perform structural design, analysis, and detailing for transmission components and submarine cables.
