Job summary

CIMA+ Energy & Resources team is hiring a Transmission Lines Engineer to advance innovative solutions for Canada’s energy transition. You will apply your engineering credentials to tackle complex design challenges, contribute to standards, and drive progress on major infrastructure projects under the leadership of the T&D Lines team.

The role is hybrid (2 days in office) and can be based anywhere in Canada, offering opportunities to shape projects from feasibility to commissioning while

Qualifications

• University degree in civil, structural or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transmission projects.
• Registered professional engineer in Ontario or another Canadian province.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe design solutions for medium complexity utilities projects.
• Assist in meeting safety, cost, quality, and schedule targets.
• Resolve technical design and field engineering problems through analysis and judgment.
• Contribute to engineering practices by developing standards and guidance.
• Deliver engineering deliverables as the professional of record where required.
• Design overhead line structures for 60kV to 500kV in a utility setting.
• Prepare project documentation like reports, specs, proposals, estimates, and test plans.
• Develop design work packages with scope, duration and effort estimates.
