Job description

Lead with Compassion. Make a Difference.

Full time | Kingston, Ontario
Office: 690 Innovation Drive, Kingston
Schedule: Monday to Friday

We're looking for a Transition Team Lead who can guide a team, keep projects on track, and help clients feel supported throughout downsizing or settling an estate. You'll be the main point of contact for clients on the job site, listening with compassion, communicating clearly, and ensuring the team understands their needs and wishes.

In this hands-on role, you'll lead the team on site and manage downsizing, moving, and estate projects. You'll work closely with clients and their families, keeping them informed and ensuring their needs and wishes are understood by the team. Many of our clients are seniors navigating a significant and sometimes emotional transition. Listening with compassion, explaining each step clearly, and responding thoughtfully to concerns will be an important part of helping them feel comfortable and supported.

What makes this role meaningful

  • Make a direct, positive difference for clients during a significant life transition.
  • Varied work that combines people leadership, project coordination, and hands-on activity.

Who this role is ideal for

  • Someone who enjoys leading, supporting, and motivating others, and sets a positive example.
  • A compassionate, clear communicator who builds trust, listens to clients, and translates their needs into practical direction for the team.
  • An organized person who can manage several priorities, use time effectively, and follow through on commitments.
  • Someone who stays calm, adjusts quickly, and finds solutions when schedules or client needs change.
  • An approachable, empathetic person who relates well to seniors and respects their choices, belongings, and personal circumstances.
  • A leader who takes accountability, handles conflict respectfully, and protects client and company confidentiality.

The role

Reporting to the Director of Transition Services, you'll lead the team on site and oversee assigned downsizing, moving, and estate projects. You will:

  • Meet with clients to understand their goals, plan the work, and keep them informed with compassion and clarity throughout the project.
  • Lead, motivate, and train team members, communicate daily expectations, and coordinate staffing needs with the Regional Transition Supervisor and Senior Team Lead.
  • Plan and coordinate moves, including furniture layouts, packing, unpacking, movers, shipping, and setting up a safe and comfortable new living space.
  • Oversee sorting, auction setup, photography, and cataloguing, coordinate auction timelines, and share results and reports with clients.
  • Arrange approved service providers, garbage removal, donations, and property clean-outs, and help prepare homes for real estate marketing.
  • Keep project records and colleagues up to date, ensure supplies and equipment are available, and maintain safe, organized work sites.

What your work life looks like

You will report to our Kingston office at 690 Innovation Drive and work at client locations in Kingston and the surrounding area. The schedule is Monday to Friday.

The work is active and may involve extended periods on your feet, repeated stair use, and lifting and moving boxes or items weighing up to 30 lbs. Client homes and estate properties vary and may include dust, pets, or other environmental conditions.

Requirements

  • Experience leading a team or coordinating projects, with strong communication and client service skills.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to client locations.
  • Current Emergency First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain and maintain it.
  • A satisfactory police record check, including a Vulnerable Sector.
  • Experience supporting seniors or working in moving, organizing, estate services, or a related field is an asset.

Compensation

$45,000-$55,000 per year

  • All expenses covered, including mileage, branded clothing and equipment
  • Eligibility for the company health and dental benefits plan following the waiting period.
  • Full training plus ongoing mentorship for your entire time with Gordons
