Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Station Assistant Superintendent to support on-site construction activities for major transit projects in Canada. You will assist in supervising civil, foundations, structural steel, concrete, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works, coordinating with the superintendent, contractors, and subcontractors to keep schedules on track.

The role requires 3–5 years in transit station construction management, a valid Ontario driver’s license (G/G2), and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License G or G2.
• 3–5 years of experience in construction management or supervision in transit stations.
• Experience with TTC and Metrolinx Specifications and Standards for Transit Stations is an asset.
• Go Corridor Experience is an asset.
• Experience reading Civil, Architectural, Structural and MEP drawings.
• Knowledge of stations construction practices, materials, and local regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in project management software, along with a understanding of AutoCAD and other design tools.
• Commitment to safety and quality, with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
• A positive attitude and a collaborative spirit, with a focus on achieving project goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and supervising on-site construction activities, including civil, foundations, structural steel and concrete, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works.
• Coordinate daily operations and communicate with superintendent, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow and schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of work in progress for conformity to specs and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with local authority standards, requirements and regulations.
• Assist in supervising Foremen and crews and tracking production.
• Coordinate manpower and equipment resources for performance and efficiency.
• Oversee subcontractor work to ensure on-time and compliant performance.
• Maintain positive jobsite relations with owner, subcontractors, and prime contractor.
• Keep accurate records of daily activities, inspections, and safety documentation.
• Coordinate with Superintendent on progress reviews and contract compliance.
• Take steps to complete contract per Contract provisions.
• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental guidelines are followed, with daily safety checks.
