Job summary

The Town of Oakville is seeking a Control Centre Supervisor to oversee dispatch and delivery of transit services from the control centre. You will manage on-time performance, communicate with drivers, and coordinate using ITS and GO Transit tools to maximize efficiency and safety.

Reporting to the Transit Operations Manager, you will supervise Transit Service Supervisors and Clerks, and ensure adherence to collective agreements, policies, and safety standards in a fast-paced, multi-shift

Qualifications

Two-year college diploma and three years transit experience as a baseline.
Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities for a day-to-day operations role.
Familiarity with transit regulations, policies, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Manage the dispatching of all service from the transit facility.
Supervise drivers to ensure schedule adherence and on-time performance.
Adjust service for delays, incidents, and weather; coordinate with GO Transit connections.
Coordinate ITS-based communications and remote supervision.
Prepare vehicle dispatch sheets and log hours, sick time, and overtime per collective agreement.
Monitor and adjust on-demand services and partnerships as needed.
Work rotating shifts including days, evenings and nights, seven days a week.
