Kelly Services (Canada), Ltd. is seeking a Transportation Supervisor in Burlington, Ontario. The role oversees day-to-day operations, safety/compliance, efficiency, and strategy for the transportation department, driving continuous improvement and customer-first service.

You will lead dispatch, routing, and driver schedules, manage budgets, review timecards, and liaise with branch managers to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries while maintaining compliance and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Logistics diploma is an asset.
• Previous experience with Transportation Management Systems is an asset.
• Previous transportation/fleet management experience is an asset.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Typical schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000 with benefits after a 3-month probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Direct dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles and customer orders.
• Develop efficient driver schedules/routes to maximize profits and oversee route planning.
• Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff/shipments.
• Resolve or escape issues affecting productivity and flow.
• Oversee cost controls; ensure spending aligns with budgets and present data for savings.
• Review driver's timecards in ADP payroll software.
• Evaluate vehicles or equipment for purchase considering fuel economy and cost savings.
• Champion a customer-first approach; verify and resolve customer complaints.
• Ensure timely short and long-term customer solutions and minimize wait times.
• Open lines of communication with Branch Managers and executives; liaise with warehouse team.
• Oversee vehicle management, maintenance records, safety, and fleet operation.
• Oversee vehicle leases, purchases, and sales; ensure compliance with MOT laws for delivery vehicles.
• Cross-border duties and brokerage; monitor driver abstracts and risks.
• Use analytics/data to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Sales leadership.
• Lead outbound delivery strategy and conduct performance reviews; coach staff.
• Assist in recruiting quality drivers; monitor driver behavior and asset usage.
• Ensure annual performance goals and on-time deliveries; support ISO policy adherence.
