Job summary

Winpak seeks a Training Coordinator based in Winnipeg, Manitoba to join the Operational Excellence Department. This role leads training programs, coordinates systems, and develops engaging content to build a skilled workforce aligned with business goals.

Reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager, you will create effective learning experiences, support hands-on training, and continuously improve onboarding and safety practices across manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years coordinating or delivering training in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) to create materials.
  • 2+ years of effective communication with employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging training materials for classroom and shop floor environments, including lesson plans, SOPs, user guides, and visual aids.
  • Deliver hands-on training sessions to support learning, skill development, and operational excellence.

Winpak is seeking a Training Coordinator based in Winnipeg, Manitoba to join our Operational Excellence Department.


We are seeking a dynamic and organized Training Coordinator to lead and enhance our training programs. Reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager, this role plays a key part in building a skilled, knowledgeable, and high-performing workforce by coordinating training systems, creating engaging learning content, and supporting hands-on training initiatives. Working closely with operations and leadership teams, the Training Coordinator will help ensure training is delivered consistently, effectively, and in alignment with business goals. Key Responsibilities


  • Develop engaging training materials for both classroom and shop floor environments, including lesson plans, SOPs, user guides, work instructions, and visual aids.

  • Deliver effective, hands-on training sessions that support employee learning, skill development, and operational excellence.

  • Lead and continuously improve the new-hire onboarding and orientation experience, helping employees get off to a successful start.

  • Champion workplace safety by ensuring safe work practices are embedded in all training programs and activities.

  • Manage and maintain training systems and Learning Management Systems (LMS), tracking employee progress, certifications, and compliance requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records across all departments.

  • Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling, training materials, room setup, and partnerships with external trainers and vendors.

  • Measure training effectiveness through evaluations, observations, and feedback, ensuring knowledge is retained and applied on the job.

  • Support employee growth and succession planning by helping to develop training and development pathways for current and future leaders.

  • Stay current on instructional design best practices, adult learning principles, and manufacturing industry trends to continuously enhance training programs.


Required Qualifications


  • 2+ years of experience coordinating and/or delivering training, including facilitating presentations and group learning sessions, preferably in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.

  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create professional training and communication materials.

  • 2+ years of experience in a role requiring effective communication and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees at all levels of an organization

  • 1+ years of experience developing and implementing goals, action plans, and training initiatives.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with plastics, film manufacturing, and converting preferred.

  • Willingness to enroll or have completed the CACE program (Certificate in Adult Continuing Education) or relevant degree preferred.

  • Previous experience working with Winpak manufacturing equipment would be an asset.


Additional Information


  • This position is 100% onsite located in Murray Industrial Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

  • There is limited bus access to this location.

  • This position requires you to work 50% of the time in a manufacturing environment requiring exposure to heights, temperature variations, noise, and heavy industrial equipment. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and will be provided.
