Job summary

Winpak Division in Winnipeg is hiring for a General Production position on a 12-hour rotating shift. The role supports railcar unloaders, resin pelletizers, and blown film lines, reporting to the Operator or Shift Supervisor/Lead hand.

Responsibilities include assisting with orders, operating and maintaining equipment, quality checks, and inventory counts, with a focus on safety and housekeeping on the production floor.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of experience with hand tools.
  • Ability to take instruction and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Good aptitude for machines.

Job description

Winpak Division is currently hiring for the General Production Position based out of Winnipeg on the 12-hour rotating shift. Reporting to the Operator or the Shift Supervisor/Lead hand, the General Production position is responsible for assisting with the safe and effective operation of the railcar unloaders, resin pelletizers, and blown film lines.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the operation of extruders, with a focus on the manual aspects of machine operation.

Learn to operate extruders through competency-based training programs and direct Operator instruction.

Assist with routine and basic maintenance of equipment, including assembly, disassembly, and cleaning.

Perform routine quality checks to ensure product standards are met.

Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the department.

Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently.

Perform core cutting as required.

Assist with pelletizer operations.

Support railcar unloading operations (outdoors).

Participate in weekly resin inventory counts.

Required Qualifications

  • The General Production position is 100% onsite, working on the production floor.
  • We are located in Murray Industrial Park. There are limited bus services to this location.
12-Hour Shift Rotation: (example)
  • Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 8:00-20:00 (days)
  • Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday from 8:00-20:00 (days)
  • Week 3 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 20:00-8:00 (nights)
  • Week 4 - Wednesday, Thursday from 20:00-8:00 (nights)
  • Week 5 - Repeat rotation starting at week 1
