We are seeking a Trade Relations Manager to join our Customer Excellence team. In this role, you will develop and maintain relationships with wholesalers and distributors. You will play a critical role in creating and executing the wholesale distribution strategy for our product portfolio in Canada. This is a field-based position located in Montreal (or Toronto), reporting to the Senior Trade Relations Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with major wholesalers and distributors across the country to ensure they are well-informed about AbbVie products and manage inventory levels within the supply chain.
    • Manage contractual agreements with wholesalers and distributors.
    • Notify customers and update all systems regarding new or changed prices and product lists.
  • Track and monitor execution and success of distribution strategies.
    • Develop reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Identify appropriate metrics and tracking methods to measure execution quality, analyze volume, inventory levels, trends, and growth.
    • Liaise with Finance and Forecasters for month-end and quarter-end processes.
    • Ensure data integrity and proper data flow between the company and distribution partners.
  • Develop, build, and execute distribution strategies for each product.
    • Collaborate with brand teams on the overall trade and distribution business plan.
    • Implement trade/distribution strategies and programs.
    • Conduct quarterly business reviews with trade partners.
    • Anticipate and recommend solutions to business challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science, or Healthcare; related fields may be considered.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a similar role within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least two years of extensive pharmaceutical sales experience.
  • Experience in analytical roles such as market analytics, research, marketing, forecasting, finance, or supply chain is a plus.
  • Strong business judgment, positive attitude, and solid external stakeholder relationships.
  • Commitment to compliance, quality, and integrity.
  • Strategic thinking with excellent planning and execution skills.

Skills and abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable with technology and various tools/systems.

Leadership competencies:

  • Ability to drive strategic plan execution in wholesale distribution.
  • Experience working in a high-performing matrix organization.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical, data interpretation, and presentation skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
