Job summary

Humans of HR in Vancouver is partnering with a well-established client in the investment management space to recruit a Trade Operations Specialist. This hands-on role sits at the center of the trade lifecycle, ensuring trades are booked, settled, and reconciled across equities, fixed income, and derivatives.

The role collaborates with portfolio managers, traders, brokers, and custodians, offering exposure across asset classes and opportunities to contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in trade operations, securities settlement or investment operations.
• Strong settlement knowledge across equities, fixed income and derivatives.
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills; Bloomberg experience is an asset.
• Clear, professional communication with internal teams and external counterparties.

Responsibilities

• Book, process and settle trades across equities, fixed income and derivatives.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers and traders to confirm trade details and allocations.
• Coordinate settlement instructions with brokers, custodians and trust companies.
• Investigate and resolve trade breaks and discrepancies.
• Perform daily reconciliations and support internal controls.
