Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (ONTC) invites applications for Track Technicians. This entry-level role supports the Rail Infrastructure team to inspect, repair and replace rails, ties, switches and ballast across system-wide track.
Travel is frequent with expenses reimbursed per the collective agreement. The position requires physical labour outdoors in Northern Ontario and a willingness to work varied schedules. Competitive pay and benefits are provided.

RATE OF PAY: $26.257 – $33.125/hr (Increases set out as per the collective agreement Full rate effective after 1 year of service or with 1 year of qualified experience)

Track Technicians work as a part of the Rail Infrastructure team that is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and safety of our 693 miles of track. Track Technicians are responsible for inspecting, repairing and replacing rails, ties, switches and ballast. Ontario Northland’s track extends north from North Bay to Moosonee near James Bay and west from Hearst to Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec in the east.
The successful candidate will need to pass the following clearances: criminal record check, employment references and pre-employment physical and drug testing.
