Job summary

Ontario Northland is seeking a Production Worker in North Bay to join the Remanufacturing & Repair Centre. You will follow production schedules, read blueprints, and work with trades to remanufacture and repair equipment.

The role requires 1–2 years in production, tool experience, and a safety-conscious mindset. Shift work may include day, afternoon, or night, with a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma, CAEC or GED.
• 1-2 years experience in a production environment.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and use safety procedures.

$25.80 - $28.66/hour (Increases set out as per the collective agreement. Full rate effective after 1 year of service)

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The Production Worker will work with the other trades adhering to production schedules in a safe manner.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works independently and with other trades in the remanufacturing and repair of equipment used in the transportation industry
• Works from blueprints, sketches, manufacturer’s patterns, circuit diagrams or schematics, and construction specifications
• Uses hand and power tools commonly used in the industry
• Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment
• Assist trades as needed
• Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment
• May work various shifts and on weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather
• Performs other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Secondary School Diploma, Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC), or General Educational Diploma (GED)
• 1-2 years experience in a production environment
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Experience in finish carpentry, window and flooring installation considered an asset
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Proficient in reading, interpreting and working from blueprints
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Knowledge of safety codes and demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious manner
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Commitment to Health and Safety
• Must be able to work shift work:
  • Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday, 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Night Shift: Monday to Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
