Weizmann Institute seeks a Director of Philanthropy to lead major gifts in Toronto. You will manage a high-value donor portfolio, shape solicitation strategies, and partner with the Toronto Chapter and national colleagues to position the organization for growth.

With a track record in fundraising leadership, you will translate science impact into compelling donor opportunities, deliver multi-million revenue goals, and build a strong donor community in Toronto.

Qualifications

• University or College degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum 7+ years progressive fundraising with major gifts.
• Proven track record managing major gifts portfolio and revenue targets.
• Experience partnering with senior volunteers and boards in fundraising.
• Translate mission impact into compelling donor engagement strategies.
• Solid knowledge of Toronto’s philanthropic landscape.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; discretion and integrity.
• Experience with fundraising CRM systems; Raisers Edge NXT is a strong asset.

Responsabilités

• Develop a regional fundraising strategy that grows major and leadership giving in Toronto.
• Build and manage a donor portfolio, guiding cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Identify and engage new major-gift prospects; leverage events and networks to expand the donor base.
• Lead solicitation planning and donor engagement; partner with the Toronto Chapter.
• Collaborate with national colleagues to deliver high-quality donor experiences.
• Maintain disciplined prospect strategy and forecasting with moves management tools.
• Represent the client in Toronto’s philanthropic community and engage key networks.
• Support volunteer fundraising and recruit new leaders to extend reach.
