Job summary

John Ross & Sons Ltd. in Halifax is seeking an experienced torch cutter/welder to join our fifth-generation, family-owned metal recycling operation. You will perform torch cutting, welding, and routine equipment maintenance to support safe, efficient production.

Candidates should have college or technical training and at least two years of torch cutting or welding experience, a safety‑driven mindset, clear communication skills, and the ability to work Monday–Friday with occasional Saturday hours.

• 2+ years of torch cutting or welding experience.
• Safety driven mindset.
• Clear communication skills.
• Comfortable driving in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Run and clean torches.
• Change liquids and adjust regulator.
• Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment.
• Perform minor repairs to equipment.
• Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to proper manager.
• Maintain clean work environment.

  Hours of Work

  Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Saturdays as needed, 7:00AM - 12:00PM
