Job summary

The Narmco Group, a leader in automotive stamping and metal forming, seeks a Tool & Die Maker with Red Seal certification to join our Windsor shop. You will read die designs, verify materials, and align components to tight tolerances for high-precision stamping applications.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years’ experience, with expertise in progressive, transfer and robotic transfer dies, as well as sheet metal stamping, formability and design.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal certification or equivalent in Tool & Die is required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a toolmaker in a tooling environment.
  • Experience building progressive, transfer and robotic transfer dies for automotive stamping.
  • Experience with automotive sheet metal stamping, formability and design.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read die designs, CAD data and sketches.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret die designs, CAD data and sketches to produce metal stamping dies.
  • Verify materials for type, grade and dimensions per engineering drawings.
  • Line up die components and assemblies to alignments and clearances.
  • Analyze and resolve quality or functional defects in dies; measure, modify, and re-test until passing quality inspection.

Pay or shift range: $25 CAD to $33 CAD

Description

The Narmco Group is an industry leader in the automotive industry for metal stamping and assembly. As a result of continuously growing our professional team, we have an exciting, challenging career opportunity for Tool & Die Maker. Our stamping processes utilize both progressive and tandem dies, specializing in deep draw, aluminum, ultra high strength steel (UHSS) and complex stamping dies.

Job Summary
  • Read and interpret die designs, CAD data and sketches and any other information needed to produce metal stamping dies
  • Verify materials for type, grade and dimensions to ensure workpiece material is correct for the application according to engineering drawings
  • Line up die components and assemblies to alignments and clearances required by engineering diagrams
  • Analyze and problem solve any quality or functional defects in the die. Measure, modify, and re-test until the die passes final quality inspection
Job Requirements
  • Tool & Die Maker (Red Seal) certification or equivalent combination of technical courses and/or experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience as a toolmaker, producing new tooling in a tool & die environment
  • Experience building progressive, transfer and robotic transfer dies for automotive metal stamping applications
  • Experience with automotive sheet metal stamping, formability and design
  • Effective interpersonal skills and team mentality
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good organizational skills
