Job summary

Amsted Automotive (Transform Automotive Canada Ltd.) in London, Ontario is seeking a Tool and Die Maker for the midnight shift to operate production tooling and related equipment, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency.

You will set up, maintain and repair tooling, participate in 5S and waste reduction initiatives, and work with vendors and teams to meet deadlines while adhering to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, repair, and maintain production tooling including lathe chucks, flow form, and press.
• Promote and practice company Ideal Behaviors (Performance Driven, Passion for Innovation, Customer Focused, Energize People, Teamwork, Uphold Trust and Integrity)
• Follow ECN process for design change proposals
• Responsible for the safe operation, organization, and maintenance of all Tool Room equipment
• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on tooling to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency
• Maintain tool tracking data including dies, CNC lathes, WF
• Ensure compliance to IATF 16949, ISO14001, and customer specific requirements
• Rotating shift work / overtime as required to meet customer demands and ensure smooth flow of operations
• Effective interpersonal / communication skills required internally and externally
• Complete work assignments with accuracy, urgency, and in a safe manner

Description

Amsted Automotive (Transform Automotive Canada Ltd.), London, Ontario, is looking for a Tool and Die Maker (Midnight shift) capable of operating all production and related equipment in the department, consistently meeting quality, safety and production expectations.

• Promote and practice company Ideal Behaviors (Performance Driven, Passion for Innovation, Customer Focused, Energize People, Teamwork, Uphold Trust and Integrity)
• Responsible for operation, set up, repair, maintenance, construction of production tooling including lathe chucks, flow form, and press.
• Utilize written and oral communication internal and externally of the organization to contribute to department Goals and Objectives
• Contribute to the company 5S, and Elimination of Waste initiatives.
• Follow ECN process for design change proposals
• Responsible for the safe operation, organization, and maintenance of all Tool Room equipment
• Responsible to troubleshoot, carry out preventative maintenance as scheduled / required on various types of tooling and related equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Responsible to participate in team activities and perform duties safely in manner that reflects sense of “urgency” with respect to meeting deadlines and goals
• Responsible for the maintaining of tool tracking data including, but not limited to dies, CNC lathes, WF
• Ensure compliance to IATF 16949, ISO14001, and customer specific requirements
• Rotating shift work / overtime as required to meet customer demands and ensure a smooth flow of operations
• Effective interpersonal / communication skills required internally (within own department and others) and externally (suppliers and customers)
• Complete work assignments with accuracy, sense of urgency, and in a safe manner in accordance with established standards, and all applicable Regulations / Legislation
