Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a General Helper to assist with meal preparation, presentation, and serving, ensuring quality and consistent presentation across items.

The role requires availability for late shifts (11pm–7am) and entails handling beverages, bagels, wraps, sandwiches, and maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and inventory in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Take orders from guests with hospitality, friendly attitude and strong product knowledge.
• Prepare beverages according to standards including marking lids and pots.
• Prepare bagels, wraps, sandwiches following proper builds and safety.
• Operate ovens/egg cookers and bake muffins, donuts, breads, eggs, sausages.
• Ensure all showcase specifications are met.
• Clean production and back-of-house areas daily.
• Receive and store inventory during deliveries and stock FOH daily.
• Maintain cleanliness of restaurant interior, exterior, parking lot, dining room and restrooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment each shift.
• Maintain speed of service and fill orders with urgency to meet guest needs.
• Address guest concerns promptly and resolve issues.

Job Summary

The General Helper will be responsible for preparing, presenting and serving meals, drinks, ensuring the quality of the food and overall presentation.

Must be available to work 11pm to 7am.

How you will Make an Impact:

• Take orders from guests with exceptional hospitality through friendly attitude, attentive behavior and strong product knowledge.


• Prepare different types of beverages according to standards including marking lids and pots.


• Prepare food items such as bagels, wraps, sandwiches following proper builds as well as maintaining food safety standards.


• Operate ovens/egg cookers and prepare baked products as assigned such as muffins, donuts, breads, eggs, sausages, etc.


• Ensure all showcase specifications are met.


• Cleaning of the production area and back of the house area on a daily basis.


• Receive and Store Inventory in BOH during delivery as well as stock up items in FOH daily.


• Maintaining a clean Restaurant interior, exterior, parking lot, dining room and restrooms.


• Maintain cleanliness of equipment each shift.


• Maintains Speed of Service by working efficiently with a sense of urgency to fill orders and meet Guests needs.


• Promptly executes service recovery for any Guest concerns or complaints by making it right with the Guest.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrate a passion for hospitality and creating exceptional Guest experiences.


• Be able to work under pressure while maintaining food safety standards.


• Have a passion for serving, making food and beverages and good time management.


• Be able to learn how to operate various equipment, carry boxes up to 25lbs, working in cold environment as freezer/ fridge.


• Enjoy working with a successful team in a safe environment.


• Have a strong work ethic, be punctual and responsible.


• Previous experience in guest service field is an asset.

The hourly wage rate for this position is $17.60. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
