Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a General Help to support daily operations in our kitchen and dining areas. You will assist with cleaning, food preparation, serving meals and dishwashing, following health and safety guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent, strong English communication, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.
• Experience in food services is an asset.
• Healthcare/long-term care experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good command of English, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Assist with customer service, food preparation, and basic cooking tasks.
• Dishwash dishes and maintain kitchen cleanliness.

How you will make an impact:
You will be responsible for supporting our daily operations with a wide range of tasks such as cleaning, food preparation, serving meals, and dishwashing.

As a General Help:

• Assist with customer service, food preparation, initial baking and cooking of foods, dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Perform duties according to health & safety guidelines, report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately and other reasonable requests from management

About you:

• You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
• Previous and food services experience is an asset
• Previous experience in the healthcare environment or long-term care setting is preferred
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
