Job summary

Compass Group Canada in Mississauga is seeking a General Helper to prepare, present and serve meals and beverages, ensuring quality and appealing presentation for guests and maintaining waste and portion control.

You will take orders with a warm, hospitality-driven approach, prepare beverages, assemble bagels, wraps and sandwiches, operate ovens and equipment, stock front- and back-of-house areas, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the shift.

Job Summary

The General Helper will be responsible for preparing, presenting and serving meals, drinks, ensuring the quality of the food and overall presentation.

How you will Make an Impact:

• Take orders from guests with exceptional hospitality through friendly attitude, attentive behavior and strong product knowledge.
• Prepare different types of beverages according to standards including marking lids and pots.
• Prepare food items such as bagels, wraps, sandwiches following proper builds as well as maintaining food safety standards.
• Operate ovens/egg cookers and prepare baked products as assigned such as muffins, donuts, breads, eggs, sausages, etc.
• Ensure all showcase specifications are met.
• Cleaning of the production area and back of the house area on a daily basis.
• Receive and Store Inventory in BOH during delivery as well as stock up items in FOH daily.
• Maintaining a clean Restaurant interior, exterior, parking lot, dining room and restrooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment each shift.
• Maintains Speed of Service by working efficiently with a sense of urgency to fill orders and meet Guests needs.
• Promptly executes service recovery for any Guest concerns or complaints by making it right with the Guest.

The hourly wage rate for this position is $18.54. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
