Job summary

The University of Ottawa's Facilities team is seeking a Third Class Maintenance Engineer to maintain and repair mechanical systems across campus. Reporting to the Manager, you will troubleshoot and service HVAC and related equipment with a strong focus on reliability.

The role requires a valid TSSA 4th Class license considered, and the ability to read blueprints. You will work 40 hours per week with a salary range of CAD 39.41–CAD 46.99 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid Third Class Operating Engineer license
• Experience operating and maintaining building systems
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Strong safety procedures knowledge
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
• Working knowledge of building HVAC systems and controls

Responsibilities

• Perform physical inspections of building service rooms and areas both interior and exterior
• Verify daily environmental controls and ensures readings are within accepted standards
• Perform periodic and seasonal preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs
• Perform mechanical maintenance such as filter and belt changing, greasing
