Job summary

The University of Ottawa's Facilities team is seeking a Third Class Maintenance Engineer to maintain and repair mechanical systems across campus. Reporting to the Manager, you will troubleshoot and service HVAC and related equipment with a strong focus on reliability.

The role requires a valid TSSA 4th Class license considered, and the ability to read blueprints. You will work 40 hours per week with a salary range of CAD 39.41–CAD 46.99 per hour.

Position purpose

Reporting to the Manager, this position is responsible to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various mechanical devices and heating, aeration, air conditioning and their auxiliary systems in facilities across campus in order to achieve optimum life span of equipment. Applicants with a TSSA 4th Class Engineer certification are welcome to apply. The applicable salary range for this classification is $37.41–$38.99 per hour.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Perform physical inspections of building service rooms and areas both interior and exterior

• Ability to strictly comply with the Technical Standards and Safety Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations, as well as relevant University policies
• Ability to work in confined spaces, on a ladder or scaffold at various heights- Bending and Lifting Required; Lifting under 30 kg
