Job summary

The University of Waterloo is seeking a Stationary Engineer Third Class to operate and maintain the campus heating and cooling plant facilities. The role involves preventive and breakdown maintenance of boilers, chillers, water treatment and related equipment across campus locations.

Qualifications

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and Ontario Third Class Operating Engineer Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years' recent experience as an Ontario-certified Third Class Operating Engineer.
• Experience with gas-fired boilers, chillers, water softeners, air compressors and ammonia-based refrigeration units.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain campus heating and cooling plant equipment.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on boilers, chillers and related systems.
• Respond to emergencies and support building automation, fire systems and elevator services.
