Job summary

Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver is seeking an exceptional Spa Therapist/Body Worker on a contractor basis. You will provide massage, hydrotherapy, and body treatments, upholding Rosewood standards and guest comfort.

The role requires at least two years in a luxury spa, a valid esthetic certification (CAC BC) and CPR, and you must speak English. Knowledge of SpaSoft is an asset; this position emphasizes professionalism, teamwork, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide massage, hydrotherapy and body services offered by the Spa at Rosewood Hotel Georgia.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies, standards, and hotel/spa packages; attend meetings and training.
  • Set up workstation; stock and sanitize supplies; maintain cleanliness.
  • Welcome guests; anticipate needs; resolve guest issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Follow proper draping, safety procedures, and post-treatment documentation.

Rosewood Hotel Georgia, a Rosewood Hotel, is looking for an exceptional and multi‑talented Spa Therapist/Body Worker - Contractor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide all massage, hydrotherapy and body services offered by the Spa at Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Cultivation and always maintaining a professional attitude.

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all Rosewood departmental policies/service procedures/standards, Forbes and LQA Standards.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings, classes, and training sessions; knowledge required within Sense Spa must be passed on to co‑workers.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests. Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Always maintain positive guest relations.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of hours of operation, reservations, fees, treatments, products, and merchandise as well as pertinent hotel information.
  • Be familiar with all hotel/spa packages, promotions, prices, and rates.
  • Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies, forms and resource materials, report shortages to management.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Perform opening/closing procedures following proper cleanliness and sanitization standards.
  • Responsible for stocking supplies needed for cabinets (sheets, towels, blankets, refill oils, creams, and all products used by therapists while performing their treatments).
  • Maintain inventory products and supplies.
  • Conduct appointments according to guest’s comfort and desire. Follow massage and body treatment protocols and SOP’s.
  • Prepare guest consultation. Be thoroughly familiar and able to recommend Spa products and treatments as well as know pertinent hotel information.
  • Verify medical releases from guests with applicable medical conditions.
  • Follow proper draping procedures.
  • Sanitize implements and working areas.
  • Complete required post‑treatment documents.
  • Follow dirty linen procedures and room set up.
  • Dispose of trash and dirty linens, and secure supplies and equipment at the end of each shift. Monitor and stick to time schedule throughout the day.
  • Handle emergency procedures and report any accidents to your manager and security.
  • Fill out necessary reports as required.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as esthetics/ massage in a luxury spa environment, preferably within a luxury hotel.

Education: High school diploma. Diploma or degree in a related field. Esthetic Certification from the Cosmetology Association of BC. CPR certified.

General/Technical Skills
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Provide massage services to guests using props and/or products.
  • Provide body treatments to guests using body scrubs, wraps, and/or hydrotherapy.
  • Assess guest needs and inquire about contraindications (e.g., allergies, high blood pressure, and pregnancy) before beginning service.
  • Prioritize, organize, and follow up.
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
  • Follow directions thoroughly.
  • Understand guest’s service needs.
  • Work cohesively with co‑workers as part of a team.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Knowledge of SpaSoft is an asset.
Language

Required to speak, read, and write English. Additional language is an asset.

Visa Requirements

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates i obtaining Canadian work authorization.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 10-15 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co‑workers to their understanding.
