Job summary

Alstom in Quebec seeks a Senior Costing Specialist to lead all costing and pricing aspects of tenders within the tender team, with Finance Tender Manager support. You will define cost structures, target costs, and participate in CPR1 milestones, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.

You'll collaborate with Bid sub-system managers, finance, and project teams across international units, applying rigorous cost modelling and value analysis in a dynamic transport solutions environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and/or business school required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industry.
• Experience in railway industry desirable.
• Knowledge of costing in a similar industry desirable.
• Ability to analyze and challenge contributors' commitments.
• Ability to define cost impact of terms and conditions.
• Awareness of financial rules and contractual aspects (bonds, guarantees).
• Experience in value analysis, product cost and cost models.
• Rigor and strong analytical skills.
• Fluent in English and French (asset).
• Comfortable in an international, multicultural environment.
• Proficiency in both French and English is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quick costing during pre-tendering phase based on cost data and project experience.
• Support Bid manager in IFQ preparation per pricing strategy.
• Define cost structure for the bid according to RFP and sales requirements.
• Define target cost per activity/sub-system coordinating with Bid sub-system managers.
• Lead cost estimation activities with units and métiers.
• Lead cost improvement actions to reach tender cost/target price.
• Collaborate with Finance Tender Manager to optimize financial costs.
• Consolidate tender costs and selling price in consolidation tool.
• Control robustness of costing and ensure alignment with scope and schedule.
• Prepare costing package for TRM and support pricing sheet preparation for customer.
• Update cost commitments for changes involving customer negotiations.
• Transfer costing data to Project and perform variance analysis.
