Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking a Traffic Control Person to support field operations in Nova Scotia. You will ensure compliance with provincial traffic control requirements, load equipment, and coordinate with clients on scope and safety standards.

The role may involve standing in as the Traffic Control Person during breaks and performing site inspections. Required certifications or licenses include provincial Traffic Control Person and Agent/Signer credentials, with preferred NS Driver's license and

Qualifications

• Valid traffic control certifications required or preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear steel-toe boots.
• Valid driver’s license preferred for site access.

Responsibilities

• Ensure temporary workplaces are signed in accordance with provincial requirements.
• Load all equipment required for the day onto the truck before departing.
• Interact with customers to understand scope of work and traffic control needs.
• Ensure Traffic Control Persons follow safety policies in the field.
• Act as Traffic Control Person during breaks and lunches.
• Perform routine inspections of temporary workplaces.

Education

Provincial Traffic Control Person Certification

Provincial Traffic Control Agent/Signer Certification

Nova Scotia Traffic Control Person Certificate

Nova Scotia Temporary Workplace Signer Certificate

Nova Scotia Class 5 Drivers license

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring temporary workplace are signed in accordance with provincial requirements
• Ensuring all equipment required for the day is loaded on the truck prior to departing
• Interacting with customers in the field to understand scope of work and level of traffic control required
• Ensuring Traffic Control Persons are following all safety policies in the field
• Acting as a Traffic Control Person while crew members are on breaks/lunches
• Performing routine inspections of temporary workplaces

Qualifications

Training & Requirements:

• Provincial Traffic Control Person Certification
• Provincial Traffic Control Agent/Signer Certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Steel-to boots
• Provincial Traffic Control Person Certification
• Provincial Traffic Control Agent/Signer Certification

Licence / Certification:

• Nova Scotia Traffic Control Person Certificate (preferred)
• Nova Scotia Temporary Workplace Signer Certificate (preferred)
