Job summary

AWP Safety, Inc in Nova Scotia is seeking Traffic Control Persons to manage temporary workplaces and direct traffic at construction sites. You will ensure sites are signed in accordance with provincial requirements, verify daily equipment, and collaborate with clients to determine traffic control needs.

Ideal candidates hold Provincial Traffic Control Person and Agent/Signer certifications; NS certificates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Provincial Traffic Control Person Certification
• Provincial Traffic Control Agent/Signer Certification
• Nova Scotia Traffic Control Person Certificate (preferred)
• Nova Scotia Temporary Workplace Signer Certificate (preferred)
• Nova Scotia Class 5 Drivers license (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Ensuring temporary workplaces are signed in accordance with provincial requirements
• Ensuring all equipment required for the day is loaded on the truck prior to departing
• Interacting with customers in the field to understand scope of work and level of traffic control required
• Ensuring Traffic Control Persons are following all safety policies in the field
• Acting as a Traffic Control Person while crew members are on breaks/lunches
• Performing routine inspections of temporary workplaces

• Ensuring Traffic Control Persons are following all safety policies in the field

Qualifications

Training & Requirements:

• Provincial Traffic Control Person Certification
• Provincial Traffic Control Agent/Signer Certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
