Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking Traffic Control Persons in Canada to oversee temporary traffic control at worksites. You will sign in worksites according to provincial rules and ensure equipment is loaded prior to departure.

You will interact with customers to confirm scope of work and traffic control requirements. Responsibilities include enforcing safety policies, standing in as Traffic Control Person during breaks, and performing routine inspections of temporary workplaces.

Qualifications

• Provincial traffic control certifications are required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain safety standards.
• Steel-toe boots, valid licenses preferred where stated.

Responsibilities

• Ensure temporary workplaces are signed in accordance with provincial requirements.
• Load all equipment required for the day onto the truck before departure.
• Interact with customers in the field to understand scope of work and traffic control needs.
• Ensure Traffic Control Persons follow all safety policies in the field.
• Act as Traffic Control Person during breaks/lunches for crew.
• Perform routine inspections of temporary workplaces.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring temporary workplace are signed in accordance with provincial requirements


• Ensuring all equipment required for the day is loaded on the truck prior to departing


• Interacting with customers in the field to understand scope of work and level of traffic control required


• Ensuring Traffic Control Persons are following all safety policies in the field


• Acting as a Traffic Control Person while crew members are on breaks/lunches


• Performing routine inspections of temporary workplaces

Qualifications

Training & Requirements:

• Provincial Traffic Control Person Certification


• Provincial Traffic Control Agent/Signer Certification
