Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking Traffic Control Persons to manage temporary work zones in compliance with provincial requirements. Responsibilities include field interactions with customers to determine traffic control needs and ensuring all safety policies are followed.

Ideal candidates hold Provincial Traffic Control Person and Agent/Signer Certifications, with preferred NS driver license. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear steel-toe boots are required.

Qualifications

• Provincial Traffic Control Person Certification is required.
• Provincial Traffic Control Agent/Signer Certification is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Steel-toe boots required.
• Nova Scotia Traffic Control Person Certificate (preferred).
• Nova Scotia Temporary Workplace Signer Certificate (preferred).
• Nova Scotia Class 5 Driver's license (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Sign temporary workplaces in accordance with provincial requirements.
• Load all equipment required for the day onto the truck before departing.
• Interact with customers in the field to understand scope of work and level of traffic control required.
• Ensure Traffic Control Persons follow all safety policies in the field.
• Act as a Traffic Control Person while crew members are on breaks/lunches.
• Perform routine inspections of temporary workplaces.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring temporary workplace are signed in accordance with provincial requirements
• Ensuring all equipment required for the day is loaded on the truck prior to departing
• Interacting with customers in the field to understand scope of work and level of traffic control required
• Ensuring Traffic Control Persons are following all safety policies in the field
• Acting as a Traffic Control Person while crew members are on breaks/lunches
• Performing routine inspections of temporary workplaces
