Job summary

Safety First Contracting doing business as AWP Safety is seeking Traffic Control Persons to support field operations across Nova Scotia. The role focuses on safety, compliance with provincial requirements, and effective traffic management.

Candidates must hold provincial certifications, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, wear steel-toe boots, and have a valid NS driver license. Training provided where needed; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Provincial Traffic Control Person Certification is required.
• Provincial Traffic Control Agent/Signer Certification required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear steel-toe boots.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring temporary workplaces are signed in accordance with provincial requirements
• Ensuring all equipment required for the day is loaded on the truck prior to departing
• Interacting with customers in the field to understand scope of work and level of traffic control required
• Ensuring Traffic Control Persons are following all safety policies in the field
• Acting as a Traffic Control Person while crew members are on breaks/lunches
• Performing routine inspections of temporary workplaces
