Rocky View Schools invites applications for a temporary, full-time Middle School teacher on the Complexity team at Meadowbrook School in the City of Airdrie. The position runs from August 27, 2026 to June 29, 2027 and serves grades 7–9 with a Christian Program option.

Meadowbrook School is part of Rocky View Schools and is located in Airdrie. This role requires Alberta Teaching Certification and pre-employment requirements including references and a vulnerable sector check.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years classroom teaching experience.
• Specialized expertise in Learning Supports or Inclusive Education is an asset.
• Experience or background with English as an Additional Language Learners is valuable.
• Literacy or Numeracy coaching is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and MTSS to ensure curriculum access for all students.
• Develop and implement IPPs and positive behaviour support plans.
• Excel in implementing complex behavioural supports.
• Use data-driven progress monitoring to translate student needs into classroom strategies.
• Collaborate with teams to coach and model practices to address classroom complexities.

This position is not open to those holding a Continuing Teaching contract with RVS.

The successful candidate must possess the following:

• Minimum 5 years classroom teacher experience
• Specialized Expertise: At least 1 year of dedicated experience or educational background in one of the following is an asset:
  • Learning Supports or Inclusive Education (e.g., LST, or specialized certification)
  • Working with students who are English as an Additional Language Learners
  • Literacy or Numeracy Coaching

The successful candidate will:

• have the ability to implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Tiered Interventions (MTSS) to ensure all students can access curriculum appropriate to their level
• be well-versed in student support planning in development and actualization of Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) and positive behaviour support plans
• excel in the implementation of complex behavioural supports
• demonstrate data-driven advocacy and are skilled in using progress monitoring and assessments to translate student needs into actionable classroom strategies
• work effectively with teams of teachers and support staff to coach and model effective practices that will build staff capacity to address classroom complexities

Pre-employment Requirements

• Applicantsmust possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate. To be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate you must have applied for initial certificationwith Alberta Education at www.alberta.ca/teacher-certification.
• External applicantsmust provide a professional letter of reference, attached to the job application, from their most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed and dated within the past 18 months
• The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment.
