Job summary

Rocky View Schools is seeking a highly experienced High School teacher for Bert Church High School in Airdrie, AB. The 1.0 FTE role on the Complexity team starts immediately, serving grades 10–12 with a focus on inclusive education and MTSS.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership in UDL, IPPs, and behaviour support plans, while collaborating with fellow teachers and support staff to enhance student outcomes and build staff capacity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years classroom teaching experience.
• Experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and MTSS is an asset.
• Experience developing IPPs and positive behaviour support plans.
• Ability to coach and model effective practices within a team.

Responsibilities

• Implement UDL and MTSS to ensure curriculum access for all students.
• Develop and monitor IPPs and behaviour support plans.
• Support learners with complex behavioural needs.
• Use progress monitoring data to guide classroom strategies.

The Successful Candidate Must Possess The Following

• Minimum 5 years classroom teacher experience
• Specialized Expertise: At least 1 year of dedicated experience or educational background in one of the following is an asset:
• Learning Supports or Inclusive Education (e.g., LST, or specialized certification)
• Working with students who are English as an Additional Language Learners
• Literacy or Numeracy Coaching

The Successful Candidate Will

• have the ability to implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Tiered Interventions (MTSS) to ensure all students can access curriculum appropriate to their level
• be well-versed in student support planning in development and actualization of Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) and positive behaviour support plans
• excel in the implementation of complex behavioural supports
• demonstrate data-driven advocacy and are skilled in using progress monitoring and assessments to translate student needs into actionable classroom strategies
• work effectively with teams of teachers and support staff to coach and model effective practices that will build staff capacity to address classroom complexities

• Applicants must possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate. To be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate you must have applied for initial certification with Alberta Education at .
