Job summary

Rocky View Schools is hiring two full-time Divisional Complexity teachers to work across multiple sites in Alberta. Successful candidates will bring deep classroom experience and strong knowledge of inclusive education strategies.

You will implement UDL and MTSS, develop IPPs and behaviour plans, and coach staff to address diverse student needs. Willingness to travel between RVS sites is required and a current Alberta Teaching Certificate is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of classroom teaching experience.
• Experience or background in Learning Supports or Inclusive Education (e.g., LST) or English language learners.
• Proven ability with literacy or numeracy coaching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and MTSS to ensure curriculum access.
• Develop and implement IPPs and positive behaviour support plans.
• Lead and model effective practices; build staff capacity and coach teams.
• Use data, progress monitoring and assessments to translate student needs into classroom strategies.
• Travel between RVS sites to support multiple classrooms and teams.

The Opportunity

RVS invites you to apply for twofull-time (1.0 FTE) Divisional Complexity teachingposition(s) starting immediately. This position will be working alongside Divisional Learning Specialists.

The successful candidate must have access to reliable transportation as this position requires travel between RVS sites.

This position is not open to those holding a Continuing Teaching contract with RVS.

The successful candidate must possess the following:

• Minimum 5 years classroom teacher experience
• Specialized Expertise: At least 1 year of dedicated experience or educational background in one of the following is an asset:
  • Learning Supports or Inclusive Education (e.g., LST, or specialized certification)
  • Working with students who are English as an Additional Language Learners
  • Literacy or Numeracy Coaching

The successful candidate will:

• have the ability to implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Tiered Interventions (MTSS) to ensure all students can access curriculum appropriate to their level
• be well-versed in student support planning in development and actualization of Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) and positive behaviour support plans
• excel in the implementation of complex behavioural supports
• demonstrate data-driven advocacy and are skilled in using progress monitoring and assessments to translate student needs into actionable classroom strategies
• work effectively with teams of teachers and support staff to coach and model effective practices that will build staff capacity to address classroom complexities

• Applicantsmust possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate. To be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate you must have applied for initial certificationwith Alberta Education at www.alberta.ca/teacher-certification.
• External applicantsmust provide a professional letter of reference, attached to the job application, from their most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed and dated within the past 18 months
• The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment.
