Job summary

School District 72 (Campbell River) is seeking a temporary Inclusion Support Teacher for a 1.0 FTE role in the Inclusive Education Department. The position, based on Vancouver Island, involves delivering inclusive education, collaborating with teachers, parents and community partners, and supporting diverse learners with special needs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Special Education, with coursework in Reading Disabilities, Math Remediation, Exceptional Children, Behavior Interventions, and Assessment and Evaluation.
• Experience in designing remediation techniques for students with learning difficulties.
• Ability to advocate for students with special needs and different learning styles.
• Demonstrated leadership in teamwork with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, students, district personnel and community professionals to develop, implement, and evaluate an IEP.
• Design and implement inclusive education plans and differentiated instructional strategies.
• Advocate for students with special needs and monitor progress toward individual goals.
