Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Security Guard for Fire Watch duties in Kingston. The role involves patrolling on foot, securing doors, documenting findings, and reporting incidents during continental rotation 0800-2000 on days only.

Candidates must have First Aid & CPR, Ontario Security License, a 3-year driver’s abstract, and access to a personal vehicle. Eligibility includes being 25 years or older, English fluency, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• English fluency (written and oral) required.
• Ability to work alone and be self-motivated.
• 1 year of security experience preferred, especially mobile or commercial security.
• Attend 4 days of blended pre-employment training at the Kingston Branch office.
• Provide a 3 year uncertified driver's abstract.
• A personal vehicle you will have access to during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Fire Watch duties and maintain detailed documentation.
• Patrol on foot, covering all areas systematically to ensure no vehicle or section is overlooked.
• Check all vehicle doors to ensure they are locked; record unlocked vehicles and details and lock doors.
• Check all facility doors to ensure they are locked and secure.
• Stay alert for suspicious activities or individuals.
• Document all findings and incidents in a report each shift, including times and locations.
• Submit a detailed report summarizing the shift’s activities and incidents.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Position: Temporary Full-Time Security Guard

Hours: Continental Rotation 0800-2000 - Days Only

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct Fire Watch duties and maintain detailed documentation.
• Patrol on foot, covering all areas systematically to ensure no vehicle or section is overlooked.
• Check all vehicle doors to ensure they are locked. Record any unlocked vehicles and take note of the vehicle details (make, model, color, license plate) and lock the doors.
• Checkallfacility doors (entrances, exits, storage rooms, etc.) to ensure they are locked and secure.
• Stay alert for any suspicious activities or individuals.
• Document all findings and incidents in a report each shift, including times and locations of each check.
• Submit a detailed report summarizing the shift’s activities, including any incidents, unlocked doors, suspicious activities, and actions taken.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to work alone and be self-motivated
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Provide a 3 year uncertified driver's abstract
• A personal vehicle you will have access to during the shift.
• 25 years or older
• 1 year of security experience preferred, experience in Mobile or commercial security will be preferred
• English fluency (written and oral) required
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
• Attend 4 days of blended (virtual/in-class) pre-employment training at the Kingston Branch office
• Authorized to legally work in Canada

Certification Requirements (All)

• First Aid, CPR Level C
• Valid Ontario Security License
