Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard at Smiths Falls Hospital in Smiths Falls, ON. This role involves patrols, emergency response, patient watch, and enforcing site policies to ensure safety for patients and staff.

Applicants must hold an Ontario Security Guard Licence, First Aid & CPR Level C, be able to pass an N95 mask fit test, and provide vaccination records. MOAB/UoF training may be provided with costs covered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior areas in all weather.
• Respond to emergencies, medical and fire incidents.

• Maintain accurate incident reports and end-of-shift docs.
• De-escalation and professional interaction with staff and visitors.
• Work independently or in a team to support operations.
• Represent Paladin with professional presence on site.

Position :Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard - Smiths Falls Hospital

Site :Smiths Falls Hospital - 60 Cornelia St W

Pay Rate: $21.69/hour

Job Description:

• Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols of interior and exterior areas, including in inclement weather


• Respond to emergency, medical, and fire incidents while remaining calm and professional


• Perform Patient Watch, investigate routine incidents, and enforce parking, smoking, and site by-laws


• Maintain accurate reports and notes for incidents and end-of-shift documentation


• Apply advanced de-escalation skills and enforce site policies, rules, and regulations


• Work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks and support site operations


• Present a professional presence, uphold client and company expectations, and perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario


• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)


• Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test


• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)


• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)


• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)


• 1 year of security experience (healthcare experience is strongly preferred)


• Authorized to legally work in Canada


• Must be able to provide certifications in Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) & Use of Force (UoF)


• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's MOAB/UoF training program in prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position


• Please be aware: The MOAB/UoF training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability


• The MOAB/UoF training will be held in Kingston, On


• Fluent English communication (oral/written) is required


• 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
